Plot: Deke, a burnt-out Kern County, CA deputy sheriff teams with Baxter, a crack LASD detective, to nab a serial killer. Well, I actually did watch this movie early this morning. I liked it with some terrific acting performances. However,

it leaves you serious doubts about the LASD from 30-35 years ago.

I liked it. Dragged in a few places and could have been tighter but the performances were excellent.

Since I really like Denzel, liking this was a no brainer. We sure are all packing on a few pounds.

I’m thinking Denzel gained weight for this movie.
It was a little rough looking at an old Denzel Washington.
Just about every week I watch an ep or two’s of St. Elsewhere so going from that DW to this one is startling.

As for the movie I thought it was terrific.
Was a true actor’s movie. No action, car chases etc.
There was quite a bit of built up tension.

I only had one issue with the movie and that was related to a car.
Dewas great as usual.
Leto was scary.

I know everyone loves Malik but he didn’t do anything for me in this movie. He was okay but not special.

Denzel and Leto put on some pounds for this movie. Leto could have had some poundage added with a partial body suit. I think Malik is an acquired taste with his acting. If you ever seen 'The Pacific', he's unforgettable in that HBO miniseries.
