I'm not usually one to complain much about cover art...but that cover smacks of the usual photoshop/floating head syndrome that is seeming to become the industry standard.
That is absolutely horrible cover art. It has none of the reverence and class of the other Platinum titles. Seriously, it makes this release look horribly "kiddie".
Ugh. Thank god I'm not buying this for the cover art.
Only one week away. What's the latest? DaViD, you got it yet?
I was in The Disney Store yesterday and went ahead and pre-ordered to get the lithos. What a sucker, Best Buy or someone will probably have something better.
Has anyone heard anything about a deluxe box set? I know there was one for cinderella, the lion king and aladdin but, I haven't heard anything about a little mermaid release. Perhaps they are just going to release the 2disc sets now and avoid a box with more swank.
There will be no gift set edition for TLM. I think that that was a poor marketing choice, but then again, I don't know how the previous sets have sold.
DAMMIT! Why can't our cover be like the Japanese cover??
BTW, Mike, my sister and I were reading through the posts before I got to yours with the awesome poster and I was telling her that the cover should've been the silhouette of Ariel sitting on the rock...and then what we do we know but you've posted the picture!
I really can't wait to get this on DVD...it's just about my favorite Disney movie of all time!
but since i havent seen this before, maybe on vhs too long ago, i dont know how it has looked before.
i guess it is supposed to look a little murky because much of it is under water
this looks very good overall.
the sound mix grew on me as i continued to watch.
**edited to ad, maybe not such good marks if it was not intended to look and sound this way. i forgot to make sure an origional un-enhanced home theater mix was also included. it was not.**
