Dirty Harry Callahan - Super asskicker. 9 pts.
Hercules - Mythological asskicker, Ferrigno notwithstanding. - 8 pts.
James Bond - King of the asskickers. 10 pts.
Mad Max - Post-apocalyptic asskicker. 8 pts. (-2 for Thunderdome)
Sydney Bristow - Perky, curvy asskicker. 7 pts.

Total = 42 pts.

vs.

Nick Sievers

Ash - Hail to the King, baby. 10 pts.
The Bride - Elsa Lanchester :emoji_thumbsup: Jennifer Beals  - 7 pts.
Bruce Lee - ooh, a non-fiction character. 9 pts.
Jack Bauer - This guy has more bad days than John McClane. 8 pts.
Jack Burton - Pork Chop Express, baby. 9 pts.

Total = 45 pts.

Actually I don't want either of you guys to advance, because both of your hero lineups are stronger than mine! :D

You both have great rosters, but Nick gets the vote. Barely.

Hey, I like Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. It may (mostly) lack the kinetic energy of The Road Warrior, but it does flesh out Max's post-apocalyptic world. It's also a pretty good adventure flick in its own right.

I've been away all week so I haven't been able to vote, but by the look of things i've been up most of the week and I abstain from voting during my rounds so it works out all right.

Brad wins 3 - 1.

Brad can now replace any two characters from his list with any two from Nick's.

Round 1 - Bracket 6

Jan H

Amon Goeth
Darth Vader
Jack the Ripper
John Doe (Se7en)
Lacy MacBeth

vs.

Mike Hutman

Al Capone
Henry (The Good Son)
The Lord of Darkness (Legend)
Patrick Bateman
The Predator

My vote:

Amon Goeth :emoji_thumbsup: (Nazis suck)
Darth Vader :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:
Jack the Ripper :emoji_thumbsup: (the original slasher)
John Doe :emoji_thumbsup: (minus a thumb for cutting off Gwyneth's head)
Lady MacBeth :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: (bitch!)

Al Capone :emoji_thumbsup: (the original gangsta)
Henry 1/2 (eh...)
The Lord of Darkness :emoji_thumbsup: (not to be confused with the Lord of the Dance)
Patrick Bateman :emoji_thumbsup: (Jack wannabee)
The Predator :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

Goin' with Jan.

Brad can now replace any two characters from his list with any two from Nick's.
The Bride (Her story isn't finished yet, so I don't know if I trust her on my team. Also, she seems more bad than good.)
Jack Bauer (I've already got two government agents, so this would be complete overkill. Also, he'd somehow insist on bringing his daughter Kim along to ruin everything.)
Jack Burton (Jack's certainly got courage and confidence, but he's a bit of a loose cannon.)
Bruce Lee (He could kick a lot of ass. Always a good quality.)
Ash (He could kick some ass, shotgun some others, and chainsaw the rest.)

But who would I get rid of?
James Bond (Untouchable)
Sydney Bristow (Bond would shoot me if I dropped her.)
Mad Max (He rules the wasteland.)
Dirty Harry Callahan (He's might be getting too old for this shit anyway.)
Hercules (So many bad Hercules movies.)

Ash takes Hercules' place on my squad, but I've decided that Harry's hand cannon still trumps Bruce Lee's flying fists. Better luck next time, grasshopper.

Round 1 - Bracket 6

+06 Amon Goeth (I can't give a Nazi more than 6 pts, even if it is a squad of villains.)
+09 Darth Vader (-1 pt for being an annoying little kid. -1 pt for being an obnoxious teenager. -1 pt for being a deadbeat dad. -1 pt letting two different Death Stars explode. +1 pt for trying to bring his son into the family business. +1 pt for giving asthmatic kids someone to root for.)
+07 Jack the Ripper (He's a bad man, alright.)
+09 John Doe (He's badder than Jack the Ripper.)
+10 Lacy MacBeth (Unconventional. Literate. Uber-bitchy!)
------------------
+41 pts

vs.

+07 Al Capone (Convicted of tax evasion? Died of syphillis in prison? Not quite bad enough, I'm afraid.)
±00 Henry (If only this were Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer...)
+09 The Lord of Darkness (He was on my list of characters to pick. Probably my favorite Tim Curry role, for whatever that's worth.)
±00 Patrick Bateman (Bad stroke of luck for you since I have neither read the book nor seen the movie. He might get a few pts if I had.)
+10 The Predator (-1 pt because he only killed one future governor, unless Carl Weathers becomes governor of New Mexico or something.)
------------------
+26 pts

My vote goes to Jan H again.

Amon Goeth - Ugh. This is an evil bastard. 9 pts.
Darth Vader - The seminal sci-fi villain. 9 pts. (-1 for "turning good".)
Jack the Ripper - Aggregate score from the onscreen versions I've seen... 8 pts.
John Doe (Se7en) - Classic. 10 pts.
Lacy MacBeth - What a conniving bitch. 9 pts.

45 pts.

vs.

Mike Hutman

Al Capone - De Niro alone earns 9 pts.
Henry (The Good Son) - Annoying; more silly than evil. 6 pts.
The Lord of Darkness (Legend) - Love this pick. 10 pts.
Patrick Bateman - A rarity: the movie's better than the book. 8 pts.
The Predator - Not many modern movie villains cooler than this guy. 9 pts.

42 pts.

Jan gets my vote in a VERY tough matchup. Twas the durn Culkin that sunk the illustrious Mr. Hutman. ;)

Jan wins 4 - 0.

Jan can now replace up to two characters from his roster with any two of Mike's.

Round 1 - Bracket 7

SteveGon

Frankenstein's Monster
King Arthur
Professor Bernard Quatermass
The Shadow
Sherlock Holmes

vs.

Brian Kissinger

Barbara Mandrell
Barbara Walters
Mrs. Buttersworth
Sally Struthers
Shirley Temple

I'll abstain, but here's my thoughts on Brian's list:

Barbara Mandrell - Even. (as far as country singers go, I prefer Shania Twain)
Barbara Walters :emoji_thumbsup: (good in case that evil Dan Rather shows up)
Mrs. Buttersworth :emoji_thumbsup: (had pancakes this morning - yummy)
Sally Struthers - Even (would have been a thumbs up, but she was married to a guy named Meathead)
Shirley Temple :emoji_thumbsup: (I love that lollipop song)

Who the hell is Professor Bernard Quatermass you ask?

Frankenstein's Monster - Cool, sad, misunderstood creature. 8 pts.
King Arthur - He should have kept his eye on Lancelot. 8 pts.
Professor Bernard Quatermass - Gotta plead semi-ignorance on this one. If Steve thinks this highly of him, he must be fairly cool. 6.75 points.
The Shadow - I know who this one is, but not all that well. I am stupid. But the movie was a bit underrated. 6 pts.
Sherlock Holmes - Great pick. One of the great literary heroes...right after Arthur Dent. 10 pts.

Total = 38.75 pts.

vs.

Brian Kissinger

Barbara Mandrell - Had a crush on her when she had that old variety show with her sisters. 6 pts.
Barbara Walters - Annoying with pretensions of actual journalism. 4 pts.
Mrs. Buttersworth - Very sweet and VERY sticky. 8 pts.
Sally Struthers - Do YOU wanna make more money? SURE WE ALL DO! 4 pts.
Shirley Temple - Creepy talented little kid. 6 pts.

Total = 28 pts + 10 pt. bonus for displaying an enjoyable weirdness with his list.

Steve wins... 38.75 to 38. :)

Round 1 - Bracket 7
+08 Frankenstein's Monster ("Sweet mystery of life, at last I've found yooooooou")
+06 King Arthur (Pulled Excalibur from the stone - OK. Formed the Knights of the Round Table - Cool. Let one of them shag his old lady - Embarrassing.)
+04 Professor Bernard Quatermass (My score is based solely on the link provided. I can't go higher until I see the man in action.)
+08 The Shadow (He knows too much about me to get more points.)
+11 Sherlock Holmes (Simple deductive reasoning will lead you to the conclusion that he is a real smartypants.)
-------------------
37 pts

vs.

+03 Barbara Mandrell (I thought Louise was quite attractive although not very personable. Irlene was pretty cute, but damned annoying. Barbara just seemed old and worked over compared to her sisters. I'd still sign up for a foursome, but I'm not giving more than three points. I'd bet Brian feels that "if loving Barbara is wrong, he don't want to be right.")
+05 Barbara Walters (Her ability to make pretentious celebrities cry might be valuable, but otherwise she'll just annoy the hell out of her teammates.)
+09 Mrs. Buttersworth (You've downed have a bottle before you realize she's poisoned you!)
+11 Sally Struthers (Big points because she's on Gilmore Girls.)
+01 Shirley Temple (Never appealed to me one bit. I want to kick her in the teeth, hard, with a steel boot.)
-------------------
29 pts

Big pimpin' points go to Steve

More people should be voting!!!!

Yeah, where did everybody go?

+04 Professor Bernard Quatermass (My score is based solely on the link provided. I can't go higher until I see the man in action.)
Quatermass isn't your typical action hero in that he doesn't personally kick ass; my admiration for the character stems from his adherence to the scientific method - when things get crazy, he keeps his cool and tries to figure things out logically. Quatermass 2 and Quatermass and the Pit are on DVD. The Quatermass Xperiment (first in the series) is not, neither is the belated (and very grim) fourth entry, Quatermass (a.k.a. Quatermass Conclusion). I did write-ups on Quatermass 2 (Revisits) and Quatermass (Expanding Horizons).

Brian's got a couple of fearsome ladies but, for the life of me, I just can't vote for a tub of corn syrup, a tub of goo, and a newscaster I'd like to drown in a tub.

I get the win. :)

Carrie White
Doctor Doom
Freddy Krueger
Grigory Efimovich Rasputin
Samara/Sadako

vs.

Brad Porter

The Boogeyman
Dracula
Evil (Time Bandits)
Hal 9000
Hannibal Lecter

Carrie White 1/2 (the dude from Scanners would have been cooler)
Doctor Doom :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: ('nuff said!)
Freddy Krueger 1/2 (what if the good guys aren't sleeping?)
G.E. Rasputin :emoji_thumbsup: 1/2 (good, unconventional pick)
Samara/Sadako 1/2 (what if the good guys don't answer the phone?)

The Boogeyman 1/2 (never scared ME)
Dracula :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: (a classic)
Evil :emoji_thumbsup: 1/2 (cool pick)
HAL 9000 :emoji_thumbsup: (loses points due to the logistics involved in carting his mainframe around)
Hannibal Lecter :emoji_thumbsup: (if you can't kick their asses, eat 'em!)

Edit: I mean Brad gets the vote by a hair. :b

Grigory Efimovich Rasputin - Oooh. Historical. 7.5
