having purchased both gettysburg and gods and generals both the extended cuts i am wondering if the final chapter in the trilogy will make it to dvd or the big screen. i would settle for a direct to dvd product.

It appears that since GAG (oops, that's inappropriate) tanked at the box office Ted Turner's team expert bean counters said 'no way' to a third film. I was hoping the 150 anniversary of the conflict, and the release of the extended cuts of both films (and the gorgeous commemorative box that included both films) would spark some interest (even if it was just direct-to-DVD, but I doubt if many of the actors would have accepted that). Both films are too long and could have used the intervention of a great editor, but I treasure both of them.

i did not mind the length of the movies. the gods and general's dvd actually had one hour of restored footage while gettysburg show more of john wilkes booth. camberlain even attends a show with booth being the actor in the performance.
