Does anyone remember this film from the early 80's? It starred Lee Majors as a former race car driver who is forced to bury his vehicle when the government outlaws them and unearths it years later to make a run for freedom at the California coast. It also starred Chris Makepeace and Burgess Meredith. I remember it being played quite a bit during the early years of pay-TV and would love to see it on DVD.

    Anyone else?

    I remember it.

In fact, I bought a used VHS from Amazon a few months ago. Have yet to sit down to watch it again.

It was a Vestron release on VHS. Since they are long gone, don't know who would have the rights.

HBO/Warner controls it, similar to other Vestron exclusives like BELL JAR, SILENT PARTNER, THE CHANGELING, FORT APACHE THE BRONX, GO TELL THE SPARTANS, HIGH COUNTRY, etc.
