This is no surprise - they have to cut so much out (language) to make the show "acceptable" for syndication. Who wants to watch it?

For the same reason , I think the syndicated "Sex & The City" will bomb as well.

Apparently they filmed broadcast TV friendly takes of the scenes with nudity and bad language, so when it's shown in syndication, it won't be nearly as hacked up.

I agree though that the way the show was syndicated just didn't work. Punch lines were wiped out because of language, and the addition of commercials hurt the narrative structure of the episodes.

The high price is the obvious reason it bombed - $49.95 MSRP originaly, for 13 episodes.

Is LARRY SANDERS still shown uncut on HBO Comedy or one of the other HBO variations?

I must have started a thread about this not that long ago... someone suggested that Columbia release a second series, at a decent price range (say SRP of $29.99) see how it sells, and take it from there.

It's yypical that, the one American comedy series I would have no hesitation in picking up, is the critically lauded but 'cult' series Larry Sander. Hell, I'd even be up for them doing the release the way the did My So Called Life.

Last time I saw it on HBO (Comedy) was Summer 2002, where they should they entire series in order at 11:30 EST. I feel like such a putz for not recording it to VHS then.

I think once it moved to Bravo HBO stopped showing it.
