Last time I was on these boards (quite some time ago), I remember hearing that "The Keep" was slated for release. Now, I can't find hide nor hair of it, including searching these forums. Any one know the latest word?

BTW, off topic, but it just came to me....what about "To Live and Die in LA"?

The Keep was originally slated for a 2003 release, but like Lindsay Anderson's If..., it's been put back until next year I believe.

To Live and Die in LA debuts Dec. 2.

Your info is much appreciated. I'm glad at least one of those films is coming out. [IMG]

I hope it's the DC of The Keep. The theatrical version had some creepy imagry, but it seemed hacked to death.

Must admit it appeared that way to me too. The first half hour promised a really great film, but it became a badly edited mess - is there really some footage around that can turn this pigs ear into a silk purse?

I agree. I was really looking forward to this when I heard it was coming out and am disappointed it seems to be delayed!

"Geez, I thought I'd advertised these in enough places that everybody would've seen them."

Well, as I stated in the first post, I've been away for a long time, and a search brought nothing up. What more did you want?

    Nonetheless, thanks for the info.

Fangoria's "chopping list"---you know I must be desperate to bother to look at anything connected with that rag!!!---gives it as "future undated". DVDEmpire.com and ExcaliburFilms.com still say "release: November 30, 2004". I've found nobody else that even advertises it.

Well... Paramount cancelled the initial release of Danger: Diabolik, so that they could produce a special edition. This may also be the case with The Keep. It deserves Mann's involvement as chosing the right cut has always been tough for this film.

back when 'The Keep' opened, Mann said he wanted to do something other than the traditional three act film...

I imagine he's doing a lot of work on it.
