Finally; some Shinola instead of shit! :D :emoji_thumbsup:

One of the best nutty comedies ever made. It's actually quite touching in a way. :)

"You mean I'm gonna stay this color?!"

Well, perhaps the scan of the back cover of The Jerk at OzDVD might allay a few fears...note the Special Features listing has as its first entry: "Original Widescreen presentation".

Unfortunately this site is out of stock, but it is available at another store www.atlanticdvd.com.au for approx AUD$22.27 plus shipping for international customers.

Tim... not the box above the Dolby Digital language options:

"THROUGH A PROCESS CALLED 'PANNING AND SCANNING' THIS FILM HAS BEEN MODIFIED FROM ITS ORIGINAL VERSION. IT HAS BEEN FORMATTED TO FIT YOUR TV."
Oh, really? Fits my TV, my ARSE!

Not buying until I have confirmation on this.

Thanks anyway, Tim. :emoji_thumbsup:

Whoops... hope I didn't raise anyones' hopes too much there :frowning: (I should make it a habit to always read the fine print.)

Anyway, let me make up for my previous transgression by directing you all to a more comprehensive review of this title and the full skinny with regards to the screen presentation format at Australia's best DVD resource, MichaelDVD.

But Tim, that's a review from 2001 - the title is being re-released. Does this mean it will get a new transfer? Probably not, but some indications are it probably will. If Columbia are to re-release the title world-wide, it certainly makes sense for them to do so, even if other versions include P&S and Widescreen (which may be what is happening with this disc too, given the confusing specs)
