I think March or April would be good because it's as far away from the October horror challenge as possible. That way, people aren't burn out from a recent marathon.

I would also say that I'm not a big enough fan of westerns to participate so my opinion isn't that important but like the noir challenge, I still enjoy reading people's opinions on movies so the more participants the merrier.

It doesn't matter the number of westerns a person watches during this challenge. You can watch one western per week. It's about the movie experience and forum participation.

I'm going to let the membership decide and it really doesn't matter if you're not able to watch a bunch of westerns due to basketball or any other activity. It's more about western kinship and forum participation.

Yeah, for this forum these days, I think that's quite a few.

Yeah, 20 responders is pretty good. Last year we got quite a few participants in the Westerns Challenge, which ran to 20 pages and almost 400 posts. I'm guessing most of the same people (several of whom don't participate in other challenges here) would show up once again.

I voted January, and one of the reasons was that the new 4k of The Searchers is coming out soon. Seems like lots here will be watching that, and some could post their thoughts on that and other Westerns in such a thread.

There is no doubt that a Western Challenge will take place in the first four months of 2025.

I have not voted yet because I want the membership to determine which of the first four months the challenge will take place. I will vote but won't do so until just before the poll closes. Until then I'll keep my month preference to myself.
