Placeholders for what? Those of us who are not moderators will only have a couple days to edit our own posts as they auto-lock after a short period.

Not true, extended edit capability is temporarily given to those that participate in "movie challenges". Except for those that previously abused that privilege or are part of the HTF staff like moderators and reviewers, who have extended edit capability.

I forgot to vote in the poll, but I would like to participate in the western movie challenge. I have many westerns in my collection that I haven’t watched yet so this would be a perfect time to be more active in the forum.
