1. 2025 2nd Annual HTF "Western Movie/TV Show Challenge" Poll To determine which month in 2025 should the "2nd Annual Western-Movies/TV Shows Challenge" take place.

2. Each Western-Movie/TV show can be viewed by physical media such as DVD, Blu-ray, 4K/UHD, etc. Other means of viewing can be done either by streaming or just watching a TV broadcast such as TCM or any other TV channel and/or internet outlet/app. It doesn't matter if the Movie/TV Show was recorded or not recorded.

3. Unlike other HTF Movie Challenges, there isn't a minimum number of Westerns you have to watch during this Challenge. Each movie/TV show episode counts as one point each. Increasing forum participation is the driving force in this Challenge and not the number of movies/tv shows a person has watched.

4. The only requirement during this Western Challenge is to briefly tell us why you liked or disliked each Western you watched. Please note the viewing means by which you watch the movie/TV show. Whether it was by physical media, streaming, TV broadcast and etc. Furthermore, your opinion can be expressed in just a few sentences or even longer paragraphs as to why you enjoyed the movie/TV show or why the movie/TV show didn't work for you. Such comments serve as an incentive for other people to watch or not watch a Western they never seen beforehand.

5. At the end of the challenge, the point totals will be added up based on the one-point system outlined in number 2 above. There won't be any participation categories like there are in other HTF Challenges. At the end of the Challenge, I will simply tabulate the total number of points each participant accumulated during the month. Each participant will be listed with the number of points each has accumulated during that month.

I picked February as I want to start with Criterion's 4K UHD (or blu-ray) of Winchester '73 which comes out on January 28th.

Damn, only 20 people have voted in this poll. Perhaps, there is just not enough interest for such a movie/tv show challenge?

I watched the 4K/UHD of The Searchers on Saturday. A great looking 4K/UHD presentation. Most of us will be very happy with it. I will definitely watch it again during whatever month is voted on for this "Western Movie Challenge" to take place. Voting for which month is chosen, closes on this upcoming Saturday, December 28th.

Looks like I may be traveling a lot in February, so I just changed my vote to March. It's a longer month anyway, so gives us more time to get the westerns in. Here's hoping more people join the challenge and vote!

I added two more westerns to my potential viewing list for next month. First one is "Hellgate" (1952) starring Hayden Sterling. I purchased the Vudu HD digital back in 2022 and never watched the movie. The second western is "Red Canyon" (1949) recommended by HTF member benbess which I recorded last night on the Starz-Western channel.

That's a great list you have there, Crawdaddy! Quite a few of them our on my mental list of what I'll be watching next month for the challenge. I'll be adding Wanted: Dead or Alive as one of the television series I'll watch as well. I love that mare's leg he has.
