I told you it was hilarious. Did you end up buying or using Netflix? I find myself watching random episodes all the time which makes it a worthy purchase for me.

You (among many other friends of mine) were correctaumdo when you assumed that, based on my personality and the sort of comedy I usually enjoy, I would dig Family Guy.

It just took the magic of DVD before I could appreciate it. Watching five consecutive episodes helps one to appreciate a given series - as opposed to maybe catching 3.5 episodes every two months.

So while I do not think it ranks above The Simpsons or Futurama, I do believe it's a damn funny show.

Thanks to DDD for temporarily selling the Vol. 1 set for $19.89! :)

Thought maybe I'd resurrect the discussion here! My luck has been holding, haven't missed a day yet.
I have removed my theater visits and moved them to a post in the 2004 Film list thread. Figured I'd keep my viewing in thier proper places.

I'M Up to 93 total, but most are the free rents i get from my job at the local video store.
it's a great perk to get free rentals and get them before street date to watch at home.

i wonder how many who started this are still keeping track.

I'm currently at 167, 8 of which were borrowed disks. I can't remember the last time I rented anything. I remember working in a video shop back in the mid-late 90's (pre-DVD). I was bringing home tapes all the time! got turned on to some real good movies by blindly taking things home with me.

Put it this way, I'm a lot better at watching than I am at keeping track. I honestly don't think I'll make it there's just too much to watch and newer stuff gets added all the time. Just when I finish 1 I get 3 more you know?

My goal was to watch 1 a day and be through about 6 months in. I did very well for the first 2 months, but March has been very busy and I don't think I'll even get one ever two days done. But, I'll keep track still. I think I'll at least finish the challenge this year, which I didn't do last year.

I'm keeping track to see how far I get, but there is absolutely no way I'll get through my nearly 1300 and still growing collection in one year, maybe 2?

So are other people still keeping up with this? I'm just trying to watch all my unwatched DVDs (started out over 500), and not worrying about the extras. Actually, realistically, if I get to 200 or so unwatched by the end of the year, I'll be doing well I think, since I'll catch up midway next year (and then finally have time to spend on the worthwhile extras).

So far since I started (so February through May), I've watched 192 of my DVDs that I hadn't watched before. Trying to do this has made me a bit compulsive about watching something every day; it's also cut down tremendously on my purchases.

Finally had a few days where I didn't watch anything.
A few factors led to this: my PC died, I cleaned out the room and alphacatized my disks. Yard work...
I still have a good pace going. may have another coupla slow days when my PC parts finally arrive and i can build my new rig.

How's everyone else?

I hear you with this. But I do enjoy it.

I'm doing ok, my purchasing is slowing down now, so I should be able to finish it. Besides, I'm on vacation in a few days so I should be able to get alot of movies watched that week. :D

Hokey smokes Chris! Of course, having to write reviews of half the stuff I watch slows me down quite a bit but that's still an impressive total.

I've started writing reviews, but not of everything, and lately it has been mostly theatrical releases.

Please take a look at my blog, I try to update it with soemthing daily.
