I was on the way to the store to buy this Television, I turned on the radio in the car and and lo and behold heard of some agreement between the Cable comapnies and HDTV
Manufacturers. Now unto my question. Is this a good set to invest in now or am I buying a dinosaur ?

This post is pretty much speculation, but I can't help it. [IMG]
I have a friend who works for Sony lobbying the FCC on this (and related) issues. He says that what this agreement means is that most HDTV tuners currently out there will "just start working" with cable systems that implement this change (assuming they're also cable-ready, but in every situation I know of, that goes without saying). I've not been able to get more details on this issue (since I work retail and have been incredibly busy), but since the XWX speaks most of the common cable protocols, I would be surprised if it was going to be obscelesced by this change...
Sorry I can't offer more hard facts. As always, check the return policy of the store you're buying that TV at. [IMG]
