how is the audio and video on the current DVD?

i know it is not enhanced, but is it worth while?

Well, it was taken from a LD-era transfer. It's not bad, IIRC, but it doesn't look like a new transfer, that's for sure...
But I doubt we'll be seeing a new transfer of this title anytime soon, so if you like it, buy it
