I enjoyed it without loving it. Not quite as laugh out loud funny as I expected it to be, but the actors are appealing and I'll stick with it a few weeks to see where it goes.
I felt exactly the same way. The highlight for me was Jameela Jamil's character, constantly (and successfully) fighting her mean girl judgmental instincts. I also enjoyed the surreal nature of Ted Danson's character.I enjoyed it without loving it.
I hope you are wrong, Aaron. But, sadly, history is on your side. This shows has a "Pushing Daisies" or "Wonderfalls" vibe to it. This is a good thing in my book, but, to your point, it might be just to "different" to succeed.
One thing that threw me (because I thought it would be the central issue of the show, and it didn't even get a mention): if she's here by accident, where's the person whose life she's getting credit for? I thought that would be the whole deal. What if she's in The Bad Place, and her goodness is causing similar glitches there? Turning lakes of fire into vanilla pudding, etc.?
Agreed, and I also think Michael is a rogue (fallen angel?) running an "unsanctioned neighborhood".I have a feeling that Eleanor is not the only person out of place.
Yeah, could be -- I actually fully expect some reveal where none of them actually belong there, and Michael having to sort it out is really his own "Bad Place."Agreed, and I also think Michael is a rogue (fallen angel?) running an "unsanctioned neighborhood".
"I'm very lucky to have that picture."...and that some goofy stoner was the only person to accurately describe the Good Place.
