New episodes of THE GOOD FIGHT’s 10-episode third season will be available on demand weekly on Thursdays exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers. The announcement was made by Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access, at CBS’ biannual Television Critics Association presentation.

In addition, the official trailer and key art for THE GOOD FIGHT’s third season were revealed during the series’ TCA panel which featured a conversation with co-creators and executive producers Robert and Michelle King and cast members Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald and Michael Sheen.

The world went crazy in the THE GOOD FIGHT’s second season, and now, in season three, the resistance does. Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) tries to figure out whether you can resist a crazy administration without going crazy yourself, while Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) and Liz Reddick-Lawrence (Audra McDonald) struggle with a new post-factual world where the lawyer who tells the best story triumphs over the lawyer with the best facts. Meanwhile, Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) balances a new baby with a new love, and Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) finds a new Mephistopheles in Roland Blum (Michael Sheen), a lawyer who is corruption incarnate.

The cast of THE GOOD FIGHT includes Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie, Audra McDonald, Sarah Steele, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi, Michael Sheen and Delroy Lindo.

Robert and Michelle King serve as showrunners and executive producers of the series, which they co-created with Phil Alden Robinson. Ridley Scott, David W. I don't subscribe myself, but I've been able to watch both seasons of this fantastic show, the second being better than the first. Looking forward to the third.

Early reviews are in and they are good: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/good-fight-review-1194201

1) The Good Fight is, with the possible exception of the season five arc with Alicia and Cary leaving Lockhart/Gardner, better than its CBS predecessor The Good Wife ever was. Period. Full stop.

2) If The Good Fight aired on CBS, it would be the best hourlong series on broadcast TV. The decision to air The Good Fight on CBS All Access has probably cost the show major Emmy nominations, especially for Christine Baranski, who has gone from decorated Good Wifesupporting player to Good Fight lead without skipping a beat. I obviously can't speak to the size of the audience that the series attracts on CBS All Access nor the number of subscribers it has brought to the service nor the halo of general acclaim and respectability that it has garnered the service, but looking at CBS' drama slate and at the general state of dramas on broadcast TV, there's little doubt that the landscape is diminished by not having this show available to a wider audience. That being said…

I really like the series a lot, and there have certainly been some episodes that rank right up there with the best of The Good Wife. But The Good Wife knocked out 22 episodes a season for seven years with only a handful of duds in all that time. With many fewer episodes to prepare, it's no wonder that quality can remain high on The Good Fight. Further, the courtroom trials in The Good Wife were more interesting and varied than anything The Good Fight has come up with (when they even bother to go to court at all). I think overall the characters were more interesting, too, in the earlier series.

"The Good Fight" is masterful at being topical without being polemic. You watch an Aaron Sorkin show or a David E. Kelley show, and at some point in the episode the characters are going to be used as mouthpieces to express their creator's politics or opinions.

"The Good Fight" is at least as topical, but the characters are always the characters. And sometimes that muddies the waters in interesting ways. There are no straight-up heroes, and relatively few straight-up villains.

The first season had some real speed bumps, but the second season smoothed out most of them nicely. Hopefully the third season will be even more confident about what the show is and what its strengths are.

"The Good Fight" is also, so far, better about tackling racial issues than "The Good Wife" was. The racial storylines in the last couple seasons of "The Good Wife" were among the show's wobbliest. "The Good Fight" has a predominantly black cast, which frees up any of the individual characters from having to carry "the black storylines". And because Diane, Marissa, and Maia are working in a predominantly black firm, they quickly moved past the most egregious white cluelessness that was played a little too heavily in the later "Good Wife" seasons.

If "The Good Wife" was a journey from idealism through disillusionment to amorality, "The Good Fight" is a case study in the consequences of crumbling institutions and social order. In "The Good Wife", there were rules. They were often cynical and distasteful rules, but there was a certain way things were done and there were consequences for violating those rules. In "The Good Fight", the rules no longer apply. Everybody, both our protagonists and their antagonists, do whatever they can get away with. There is a certain melancholy undertone that something vital is being lost in the process, but there is also a gleeful energy that comes from the anarchy. Headed into the new season, it really feels like "The Good Fight" Season 3 and not "The Good Wife" Season 10. That's an accomplishment in and of itself.

Week after week, this show absolutely hits home runs. This week was an incredible addition; and I have to say, the inclusion of animated shorts to document a point really works for me. Catchy, fun, and a great break.

This is the whole reason why I pay for CBS All Access. And it proves it's worth. Every storyline worked for me; even the C and D plotlines; the chasing a judgeship, influencing a music star..

Was that Gina Gershorn as 'Melania.' in that last episode? I loved the ambiguity of it (but they probably had no choice, legal-wise). A really fun episode.

I just finished watching the DVDs of Season 3.

Still enjoying the show. Although I wish there was more courtroom and less political-obsession. The storylines across-the-board have been pretty johnny-one-note. While Michael Sheen's character added some spice, I would like more on Diane (and her relationship with Kurt). I never did warm up to Audra MacDonald's character. The writers really haven't given her much to do.

And that cliffhanger?!? Wow!

So I'm glad to hear it'll be back for a 4th year.

That's my biggest complaint about The Good Fight: not enough courtroom trials on interesting subjects. That's where The Good Wife has it all over this follow-up vehicle. Otherwise, I enjoy the cast and look forward to season four.

Just finished watching The Good Fight S03 on DVD. Wow - what an incredible series! Though the first two seasons were superb, this third season may have been even better. Fantastic. I like how they're pulling topical & relevant real-life situations/events into the show, which adds to the realism. The cartoon shorts were hilarious, and so true!!!! Very clever & well-written show.

As in past seasons, the courtroom scenes were some of the best elements of the series - very entertaining.

The scene when Lucca allegedly "met" MT was interesting, though obviously that wasn't really her (even in the context of the show itself). My interpretation was that this was the previously-discussed impersonator, who was trying to get the infamous "tape" from the firm.

Cool to see GC playing himself in this season; huge fan of HBO's The Deuce.

The season finale is definitely one of the best cliff-hangers I've seen on TV - well-done.

I wish the show were put on Blu-ray; I'm sure it would look great in HD.

Yes, it is a superb show, unlike anything else on TV, and the fact that it's been virtually ignored by various award panels just annoys me to no end!

Apparently the W network which broadcasts this program in Canada, has decided to hold up Season 4 until all this year’s shows are in the can, and then show them on a weekly basis.

And I read they had only filmed eight of their ten episodes for this season before the shutdown, so the season may only be eight episodes. Most shows are scrapping the episodes they didn't get to film. I don't know about The Good Fight.
