The Golden Girls: Season Two is slated for release May 17th, 2005! Looking forward to this release which will hopefully have some better special features!

Yay. I've recently picked up the first season, and have enjoyed revisiting the series. Although I'm a big Disney fan, this has been the only season set I've bothered to pick up.

With BVHE/Disney/Touchstone now entering the Season Set market, their releases have been patchy. The Alias sets have been great, but the Golden Girls was a bit light-on. Boy Meets World and Home Improvement supposedly have some nice supplements - I'm sure there is a big enough fan base out there for it!

Look forward to that in May.

Golden Girls, The - Buena Vista confirms release date for 2nd Season

Back in mid-November we had the heads-up that The Golden Girls - The Complete 2nd Season would arrive sometime in Spring 2005. The word came from an advertisement inserted into the set for The Golden Girls - The Complete 1st Season, as well as also-released-on-the-same-day sets for Home Improvement and Boy Meets World. The same ad insert said that the next sets of HI and BMW would also make it out in the Spring.

At the beginning of this week, we noted that Amazon.com had listed a pre-orde release for the first season of Scrubs, and at the same time we saw they had listed The Golden Girls - The Complete 2nd Season for May 17th...but we hoped to post more info for such a super-popular title than just the release date, so we held off until we could contact the studio offices (which were closed for the MLK holiday).

Since then, we've talked with Buena Vista Home Entertainment, who agrees with that release date. However, a full press release isn't available just yet; it will be made available in the near future and wil contain all the details (also one for Scrubs). Note, though, that we're told that the next releases of Home Improvement and Boy Meets World will NOT make it out on that date: just Golden Girls and Scrubs, it seems. BV tells us that HI "is later" and BMW "is unknown at the moment".

Our thanks to the MANY readers who wrote in to make sure we were on top of this story; we were, we just wanted to try to get more info for you. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated. In the meantime, you can pre-order it at Amazon for $34.99 (SRP is $49.99).
