What's on the 4th disc though?
The documentary is split over 2 discs, just as it will be on the UK 3 disc set.
So will the UK 3-disc set be missing any extras compared to the German set?
I think the 4th disc holds the theatrical cut in the german release. The other ones just have the Director's cut.
And - gosh - discs that have a better than 50% chance of working properly!
Regarding the German release, I take it all of this will be in English with German subtitles? "Clay/tone quality: 5,1 Surround, 5,1 dts Language: GB Sub-title: D, GB (f. Hoergesch.), " I take it that means Dolby 5.1 and dts 5.1 in English right? And subs in German, and English? Might order this from cd-wow.
Is this so? I've ordered from most amazons, but not .de yet. Most titles I've bought lately from "foreign amazons" are "18"...I just figured they presume if it's your credit card that you're over 18 (but I'm of the age when way back you couldn't get your own until 18, so I don't know about now). Or maybe the "main amazon" checks out your age somehow??
Can anyone confirm English audio on everything with the German release? In particular, the dts audio for the director's cut?
I cannot give you a 100% guarantee however there was a post on the thedvdfourms message board from a poster who had found info in a German message board which stated that the two audio tracks are in English, there is no German dubbed track apparently this information was from someone who phoned the local Universal office. I know this is second hand info and as such needs to be treated with a bit of scepticism.
Sorry double post not sure what went wrong there

Oh that's good then, because I ordered it hoping that would be the case. I'm safe to assume the extra features will be in English too, with (hopefully) removable German subtitles. I wonder if the packaging will be similar to the R2 3 disc version. Thanks for your help Moe*A and Jerome
sure, the extra features will be in English, with removable German subtitles. all the european countries have the same discs for the extra features, both in english with selected subtitles in different languages. so you can remove them. the cover:
ok so what is the defintiive version/region to bbuy?
it seems clear to me, no ?
The German 4 disk SE is available from CD-Wow quite cheaply. Is less than the UK 3 disk SE and R1 versions so have gone for the German one, as it sounds the best, and I am not bothered by non English packaging Just use the CD-Wow link for your particular country.
jerome, to you, yes. to me, no, thats why i asked. apparently the german verson fron cd-wow? maybe not for me, it is pal reg 2 right. i dont like the pal speed up.
Seems to me the European versions are just spreading the same material over more discs. They gain DTS, I guess, but that's not as important for me, since the video is PAL.
