Does anyone have any info on an future release on DVD? I was going to buy the laserdisc but I don't feel like coughing up over $100 for a full screen LD.

I don’t see how their latest update is any different to the rumors that have been around for over a year now. The Bits needs to confirm a release date or we can file this in the "to be released - never" file.

I'm very tempted to buy two copies just to show my appreciation.

Just watched this last night on WGN. What a great Pearl Harbor film! I can't wait to get the DVD. Final Countdown scores on two of my cardinal rules of film: A film involving WWII can't be bad. A film involving time travel can't be bad.

Jason, you forgot one: any film starring Katharine Ross can't be bad! [IMG]

I can't speak for the rest of the country but the version of this film they used to show on broadcast tv was without a doubt the worst job of "edited for television" I've ever scene.

    ex.

the dogfight between the tomcats and the zeroes begins, then abruptly dissolves into the next scene, cutting out the best part of the movie when the f14 almost smacks into the surface of the ocean.

Obviously the cover art will stink, any guess as to what they put on it?

My guess would be a very unflattering picture of Martin Sheen with some disjointed images in the background.
