I grew up with this group and still really like their music. Sort of cosmic/uplifting/funky stuff. And I think it would be great in surround. Who owns their music nowadays?

Here's one of their big albums: Age Of Aquarius

    Format?

    Memory!

I've heard Marilyn McCoo's name occasionally.

My best friend loves them, but I don't share his affinity. He tends to like a lot of lighter stuff with mild danceability. Dunno if I really think of 5D as "danceable", but he digs them...

I was a Fifth Dimension fan when they were popular in the 60s and am still a huge fan. I own the 2 disc set The Definitive Collection and The Magic Garden.

I highly recommend the Magic Garden CD. All the songs were written by Jimmy Webb and includes the first version of the song The Worst That Could Happen, that was popularized the the group Brooklyn Bridge.

Since they are on Arista, it would be DVD-A.

Lance, I was just enjoying your joke about how many channels we'd need to properly enjoy 5 D [IMG]

Since I remember some members of 5D looked so good, video would be nice

Whenever I hear or see Marilyn McCoo's name get mentioned, I picture those "Solid Gold" dancers....well, the female ones anyway. [IMG]

Ditto. This is almost a concept album and would have been perfect if "Ticket to Ride" (recorded separately from the rest of the album) had not been tacked on.

I don't know why this song was included. The only thing I can think of is that the record label was nervous that the album needed a recognizable song so people would be more apt to purchase it.

I have burned a cd from my own copy and excluded Ticket To Ride to keep the continuity of the rest of the cd.

The liner notes indicate that it was included for "financial" reasons, which means it was probably already recorded and the execs thought it would be a waste of money not to use it. Shows how much they gave a damn about the album itself.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Arista part of BMG-Sony now? If so, I wouldn't hold my breath on a DVD-A of this.
