I used to go to press junkets for movies and music, so I got to meet some cool people.

John Waters (funny guy, really nice)
Kirk Douglas (great storyteller)
Phil Hartman (charming and funny)
Jim Kerr (another nice guy)
Linda Hamilton (in the Philly airport-we were stuck and she had her adorable then-toddler with her. This was right before Terminator 2 came out. She was friendly.)
I sat next to Brandy at Chicago O'Hare Airport a couple of years ago, she was talking about how she would love to be married and have kids.

Never really ran into any arseholes. Even though I live in L.A, I don't see that many celebs. I just don't do a very good job of paying attention.

Played in a golf tournament with Bruce Greenwood (Thirteen Days, Double Jeopardy etc). He was great, real down to earth, and a pretty good actor. In the same tournament were Tom Poston, Norman Jewison, Norman Lear and others. I played in a "horserace" with David L. Wolper as my partner, one of the bigtime producers. Nice guy, but not much of a golfer and we were eliminated on the first hole. Also played golf with the guy who played Cagney's father on Cagney and Lacey. His name was Dick O'Neill, and he was quite a character. We were playing at a local Vancouver golf course and there were three of us. He came out looking to play and the starter put him with us. He told us a few real good dirty golf jokes, I still use them now.

Let's see... Met Michael Stipe(shy introverted in those days) on one occasion, the whole band (REM)on another)Peter Buck was very chatty. I actually had a bunch of stuff signed by the band which I have lost over the years-but I think I still have pictures somewhere. Met Martina Navratilova- nice lady. Gilbert Gottfried used to get his hair cut at Astor Place in NYC- ran into him. Oh... and someone who had his life made into a movie(post-humously), the Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas-I attended one of his lectures and met him(the movie "Before Night Falls"- in case you were wondering). I know there are some others but my memory fails me.

Shook hands with Lauren Bacall, Lesley Ann Down, and Lee Iacocca. Took a leak next to ex-basketball great Chris Mullin (he told me the water was deep, too) :)
