I'd agree with what Gabe said, except I can't figure out what that's a vote for.
Well, since Lone Star is the one I'm watching with the kids, I'd call it a vote for Lone Star. (The only problem is that I may fall asleep before they do.)

Just a bit of an update here. So far, this is what we're looking at.

Animal House-5
Lone Star-3
Gabe-2
Brother-in-law's-Porn-2
Cujo-1
Bloodsucking Freaks-1

Quite a bit of variety there.

Seriously,

Animal House-6
Lone Star-8

I'll put up the new bracket in a couple hours.

I have to abstain this round as I wouldn't betray my sister by popping in a rated R movie while they are awake. Now once they're asleep.......Animal House of course.

I'm not picking on you Tommy, but you aren't allowed to do that.

THE RULES

1. You MUST follow the criteria laid out with each round when making your vote.

2. If you do not agree with the criteria (Example....say we are voting on the crappier movie of the two, and both are favorites of yours and you feel neither is crappy) make the sacrifice and vote anyway. It's all for fun. If you want to add a comment on your feelings, then that is fine.

3. ALL death threats are to be E-mailed to me. If you private message it to me, I just get an E-mail from the HTF alerting me to the message, so you might as well just send it to me to begin with.

4. Have some fun.

So, I'm counting that as a vote for Animal House. Not that it matters, as Lone Star wins this battle of kiddie favorites by a single vote. I guess our HTF members know better than to let small kids watch Animal House. I watched it as a child and look at what happened to me. :)

ROUND 1, BRACKET 3

The Criteria

Here's the set-up. You are seventeen, and you and your girlfriend/boyfriend are doing your homework up in your room. Your mom pops in to drop off your freshly laundered underpants and socks, and catches you uh...a bit exposed. She has the proverbial "cow", and makes you two retire to the downstairs for close supervision. Which of the following two movies do you pop in to ease the tension?

The Untouchables

or

Citizen Kane

P.S. I picked up the winner's prize today. Man oh man is it a doozy.

Hey, that better not be one of mine! :p)

Anyway, I vote for The Untouchables - beating someone with a baseball bat works wonders for easing tension.

1) I wouldn't get caught
2) My mom wouldn't get mad about it, just embarassed
3) If she DID get mad about it, she would simply kick the girlfriend out of the house, not insist she hang around to watch movies

But since we must play by the rules...

I know I know. That's why I did eventually pick Animal House. I feel so dirty for letting those little tots see it though. Anyway, on to this round. My mom absolutely hated the Untouchables. I dragged her to the theater to see it with me. On the other hand, she loved Citizen Kane. So, in order to get her mind off of the predicament that just occurred, I pop in Citizen Kane so that she could explain how much of a wonderful movie it is. Wow, mom forgot already. My true love is Rosebud anyway! ;)

The Untouchables

but since we were caught before things got very far, I guess when the parents went to sleep and the girlfriend home, I would have to put on The Touchables :D

I pick Citizen Kane. Since my girlfriend would be a wiseass like myself, I wouldn't want to give her the opening to tell me that she too was untouchable. Besides, while both are the same length, the Kane dvd has lots more extras we could watch. The longer we watch, the higher the probability my mom falls asleep, allowing me and the girlfriend to go back upstairs and finish what we started (locking the door this time, doh!).

Ugh. Thanks for bringing back painful memories. I was "caught" once. Blame the old Rachel Ward flick Night School and a clock that needed a winding. :frowning:

I'm skeptical. Would anyone's punishment for scandalous nooky be watching a movie? What if you got drunk? Does that merit a trip to Disneyland? :)

We'd be watching The Untouchables, because Andy Garcia and Kevin Costner are more likely to maintain my girlfriend's arousal than Everett Sloane.
