I just watched this film on dvd after not seeing it in over a decade and holy shit, it scared the crap out of me! [IMG]

This may possibly be one of the most hair raising and down right frightening films in exsistance! [IMG] I'm 32 years old and horror films rarely scare me to the point where i'm afraid to be alone, but this one did!

I guess you could call this an appreciation thread for the film, but it's hard to appreciate a film that freaks one out so badly. [IMG] Still, it's one hell of a scream fest!

Are you afraid of being raped by a ghost, or just afraid of Ron Silver?

Great, another needless remake. They can't make another film as scary as the original, so why even try?

Oh, I know why, because remakes are in right now and that means big $$$. [IMG]

I'll see it, but if I see one single scary little kid, i'm walking out.

I love this film. Extremely creepy, not to mention rather disturbing. Hershey's performance is quite impressive. She pulls off the confusion, violation, and terror of her character very well, while also managing to come off as a strong individual. Ron Silver is great too in his sort of unlikable role.

The remake doesn't surprise me. The pathetic trend of remaking all these great horror films lately seems to be a never ending pain in the ass.

I think this movie is so scary, even with a very silly ending sequence. For some reason the sequence where the window breaks makes me jump more than any other movie moment ever. It's perfectly timed.

A remake seems like a strange idea, though. It's not exactly a topic that lends itself to a campy remake with tv actor, if you know what a mean.
