I've never seen this before, and the running time is a surprise? Only 100 minutes? The title sort of screams "epic" to me. Looking foward to this disc.
The Duellists is a very good movie, with some great characterizations, and some of the best sword fighting sequences ever put to film. I've been looking forward to this one for a while, and the specs look great. Thanks for sharing, Patrick.
Also, I just noticed that the stated running time on the IMDB is 95 minutes, compared to 100 minutes on the dvd cover. I wonder if that is significant?
Beautiful photography as well
I just wonder about the following : duelling featurette with Ridley Scott & Kevin Reynolds. Does this mean we get to see Robin Hood as well. This would be very distracting indeed.
Anybody have an explanation for this ?
Excellent, excellent film. Looking very forward to owning this. Any news on a street date?
Amazon shows Dec. 3:
So does DVDEmpire:
WooooHoooo! Sooner would be better, but by years end, I can live with that. Thanks Greg.
I'm anxiously anticipating The Duellists, Ridley Scott's first and best film.
Watched this last night and I must say, excellent job by Paramount. For a 25 year old film, they did a superb job with the transfer. The black level seems a bit on the washed out side and lacks some detail, but over all a great transfer. The dd 5.1 track is good, mainly center channel driven but that was to be expected. The soundtrack is very enveloping.
Thank you Paramount!
