I Watched this charming little movie with Sam Neill last night, I think it makes a great one to watch sandwiched in between The Right Stuff and Apollo 13. I love coming across flicks like this, small, but warm and comfortable. Kind of like Local Hero.

Tell me, what snack (popcorn, nachos?) did Sam consumer while watching with you? [IMG]

Yes, it's a nice little "quirky" film based on a true story.

Try Gregory's Girl and Comfort and Joy both by Bill Forsythe who directed Local Hero. Diner and Tin Men (both filmed in my city of Baltimore) are also gently comic with quirky unforgetable characters.

Two French-language films also come to mind "Mississippi Mermaid" with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Catherine Denueve from 1969 and "Ameile" from 2001.

Not sure about the region 1 version, but the region 4 DVD of THE DISH has stacks of fantastic extras, including heaps of original and exclusive NASA footage taken around that time.

    It's a really great DVD.
