By the way, if you need your Chuck Norris fix, Amazon has Hero and the Terror on sale for like 8 bucks.

Scorpion Releasing has confirmed that it will bring to Blu-ray director Menahem Golan's film The Apple (1980), starring Catherine Mary Stewart, George Gilmour, and Grace Kennedy. The release, which will be distributed by Kino Lorber, is expected to arrive on the market later this year.

Synopsis: Take a trip back to a time when rock ruled the world, with this mind-blowing, deliriously decadent musical that's a psychedelic feast for the senses and "a camp lover's delight" (American Cinematheque)! Deliciously decadent and exploding with glitter and glam, The Apple is a psychedelic sci-fi feast for the senses!

When folk singers Alphie and Bibi enter the World Vision song contest, their wholesome appeal catches the evil eye of music mogul Mr. Boogalow, a Faustian fiend who promises the pair fame and fortune. Seduced by Boogalow's devilish denizens, Bibi surrenders her soul and soon becomes a superstar...and a pawn in Boogalow's plot to take over the planet with the power of pop music! Now, Alphie must free Bibi from Boogalow...and save the world from rock-and-roll ruin!

The release date is slated for sometime in may! I am SO getting this!

April 4th is the release date, confirmed by Mister Lime in the Kino "strictly moderated" thread.

Pardon my post directly above this one. Sometimes posting on this website works for me, other times not.

Hurray! Now I can get my Richard Chamberlain double feature on!

(My favorite story from Electric Boogaloo was Menahem shouting "Get me the Stone woman!", telling the director to get Kathleen Turner - Romancing the Stone - but winding up with Sharon Stone instead. Whoops!)

Loved this movie back in the day, and I streamed it a while back and it still held up pretty well!

Side note, Dana Olsen (Palmer) helped create one of my kids favorite Nick shows, Henry Danger and the Dan Schneider (Blimp) created a lot of popular kids shows on Nick like iCarly, Drake and Josh, Game Shakers and several others.

KING SOLOMON'S MINES (85) is out now from Olive. Barebones but at $12.99 reasonably priced from Amazon. Nice widescreen presentation, too.

So wound up watching King Solomon's Mines the other day. Yeah it's goofy as hell, but it's kind of fun too. And man - I love the era when you had real stuntmen doing real dangerous things. Hanging off the bottom of the train like that? Insane! That was 13 bucks well spent!

Not exactly a movie, but if you're at all intrested in the behind the scenes of Cannon, Sam Firstenberg - director of Revenge of the Ninja, Breakin' 2, American Ninja (and others) has a kickstarter for a book about his time with the Go-Go boys.
