Do you think we'll ever be able to see a SE for this movie? I'm shocked to see nobody asked about on the WB chat, so I just keep wondering if I should wait for a possible SE, or if I'd better the bare bones edition they've already released...

Don't get the version that's out there, it's not OAR (i.e. not WS).

I certainly hope so. As far as I'm concerned, if a movie isn't OAR, I'm not buying it. [IMG]

As a (sad) side note, I saw a show on PBS about covered bridges the other day. The covered bridge featured in that film fell victim to arson and no longer exists.

Given that this is a Clint Eastwood film, I doubt there's much in the way of extra footage to make much of a CE. He's known for economy of takes during filming and vetting the script before principal photography so as not to waste time and money filming scenes he won't use in the final film.

I'm no expert, but since the movie is 1.85, this is probably 'open matt' instead of 'pan and scan'?

Once you zoom on your 16x9 TV, what you see will be almost OAR (albeit lacking the increased rez you'd get on a 16x9 encoded disc).

I also wanted a copy with the Eastwood Collection snapper, since I store them together on the shelf like the Bond movies.

If they fix this later, at least I'll have the case.

    In short, I bought it.

    Yep.

A search will now properly bring up this thread.

    Mais no.

I have Bridges on laser and I have the R4 Widescreen DVD. It is pan and scan, not open matte. Even says Pan and Scan on the box.
