I binged this one pretty hard. It took off starting with the first episode and kept up the momentum throughout, which for me is unusual for a streaming series. Typically, they take a couple of episodes to get the premise and exposition out of the way or start with a bang and then have at least a couple of wheel spinning episodes. The Boys was a rare case of starting at 11 and not letting up.

I don't remember seeing Erin Moriarty in anything before, but she was pitch perfect as Annie/Starlight. The absolute stand out for me was Antony Starr as Homelander, projecting an air of silent menace with every syllable. It's not a cartoonish approximation of Alan Rickman like I usually see, but a real grounded sense of sociopathic evil. He is truly frightening.

If you finished up the ponderous and flaccid Umbrella Academy thinking this kind of dark superhero treatment doesn't work, The Boys will fix that. This show is the shit.

I binged it a few weekends ago. I thought episode 5 and 6 were a little off. The actress playing Starlight reminds me a little of a young Julie Bowen from "Ed" all those years ago.

The only think I knew Erin Moriarty from was “Kings of Summer”.

I remembered her from the first season of Jessica Jones.

Edit: Also Blood Father with Mel Gibson.

I'm surprise that nobody mentioned Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan's son is playing Hughie.

That's where I remember her from as well. I was hoping she'd turn into Jessica's sidekick/protege, and was very disappointed when the show went in a different direction with that character.

Like her even better in this role, though.

And Simon Pegg is playing his father which is kind of fitting since Hughie in the comics is drawn to look like Simon Pegg.

Absolutely. Besides looking just like Pegg, he also wrote the intro to the first (or maybe the second) trade paperback of the series.
