Who would win? The Borg collective from the Star Trek TV series or the evil Empire (along with Darth Vader, the Emperor and the Death Star) from the Star Wars movies?

I pick the Empire. The Borg would be no match for the Death Star, which can destroy an entire planet with one blast. Plus, Vader and the Emperor have the Force on their side, albeit the dark side of the force..

It would be a good fight but I would put my money on The Borg. While it's true that that the Death Star can take out an entire planet the thing is primarily made to hit a fixed target (aka planet) and takes forever to recharge between blasts. Borg technology seems to be a at least a few centuries more modern than anything I've seen in the Star Wars universe.

    Damn, this is a head-scratcher!

I'll give a slight edge to Darth Vader and company.

I would have to go with the Borg even though I think the Empire are "cooler" bad guys.

Obviously the Borg. We've all seen how easy it is to take out the Death Star.

Do you think the Borg could modulate their shields to block the Force?

    The Empire
    - Death Star could easily take out a Borg cube. Shield Modulation? Whatever. You can't modulate shields if you've already been blown to smithereens.
The Emperor and Darth Vader alone could easily take on the Borg by themselves.

The Galactic Empire, easily. The Death Star is way too powerful, the Borg Cube would not even stand a chance. And don't underestimate the force either.
"Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force." - Darth Vader
So there you go. Even if the Death Star fails, they still have the Force.

I'd say the Empire. The Borg function best as infiltarting small worlds and taking them over one at a time. While-as the Galactic Empire already consists of many, many planets, species, and technologies. I'm not sure if the Jedi Mind-Trick would work on the borg, But one must think, you you could Mind-Trick A borg, then you've just Mind-Tricked ALL borg.

    ALSO:

The galactic Empire has guns. Lots and lots of Guns. Borg has what appears to be can-openers and Craftsman RoboGrips permanently attached to their limbs. These make sucky weapons.

Plus its an arguement of Parasitic organisms, versus an probable limitless army of clones. so It couldn't really be a numbers match on that account.

    I think it's a draw. Consider:

On one hand, you have the Empire, mostly made up of stormtroopers. It has been shown time and again that stormtroopers are the worst shots in the universe. Think about how many times we saw them fire their blasters throughout the movies, and how many times they actually hit something. And what's with their armor? It doesn't do a damn thing to protect them. Worst of all: in the end, the entire Empire was destroyed by Ewoks. Pathetic.

Then you've got the Borg. These guys are seriously clueless. They let their enemies walk around freely on their ships. They've had their asses handed to them dozens of times by now, but they keep telling everyone "resistance is futile." Yeah, sure. When they attacked the Federation, they only sent one ship. Above all else, they were defeated by Janeway. Multiple times. Come on, that's just sad.

Both are equally inept, and would have a hard time defeating even each other.

I'd go with the Galactic Empire. The Borg can't do anything about Vader and the force.

The Empire, no problem. If the sissies of Star Trek can handle the Borg, Vader would cut through them like butter [IMG]

Star Trek is in the future, Star Wars is in the past.
You would think that the technology difference alone would doom the Empire.
And, since I'm a member of the Star Wars is Overrated fan club, here's a poke... Star Wars is a fairy tale for kiddies. [IMG]
