Over at Digital Bits, they're reporting a release date and official announcement for a 20th Fox title a lot of us have been waiting for a long time. This is a Tyrone Power favorite I'll really be looking forward to!

THE BLACK SWAN is one of the most beautiful Technicolor films. It should look gorgeous on DVD(and, hopefully, in one of the HD formats).

Finally!! Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara at their very best. I wish Fox would think about a Tyrone Power Collection (Lloyds of London, Cafe Metropole, Suez, Jesse James, Blood and Sand, Son of Fury and Captain from Castille comes right in my mind, not t mention the wonderful Rose of Washington Square, that would fit better in an Alice Faye Collection).

And Maureen also has many titles that deserves to be on dvd (Sentimental Journey, Sitting Pretty, The Foxes of Harrow and Father was a Fullback)

Excellent news! [IMG] One of my favorite adventure flicks from the 1940's.

DVD Empire posted it on their website. There's a commentary by Rudy Behlmer and Maureen O'Hara, which I suspect was done quite awhile ago given the length of time that the Restoration took. It may be the final "Studio Classics" release in that particular line.

I posted in the studio classic line that Keys of the Kingdom & The River's Edge are being released on the same day.

More Gregory Peck films are great, but when are you going to release one of his best "The Gunfighter"? You have a large mural of "The Gunfighter" at Fox Studios.
