The black Stallion/Returns two pack (1 Viewer)

Hey, I just noticed this thing online. Does anyone know if this is in Animophic (both discs I know the first pressing of the original wasn't Animorphic) Also, If anyone has the pack, how's the transfer? I'm thinking of geting this for my dad for Father's day (He loved that stallion.) he used to have both movies on laserdisc but the player took a crap on them a few years back and their just starting on their DVD collection. Thanks in advance.

I got it- Great Price ($14.99 for the two-pack)!

I do know that the first film (Black Stallion) is letterboxed but not anamorphic, but the sequel is 16x9.

Unless you really need the films, avoid this current transfer of Black Stallion. There are severe compression artifacts in the darker scenes at the beginning of the film and a general digital look for the whole film.

Also, the color seems slightly desaturated.

This is such a beautifuly photographed film... it really deserves to look better, much better, on DVD.

Hopefully MGM will consider a special edition at some point... Disney is doing an IMAX prequel, great time for a cross-promotion.
