How is the quality of this film on DVD? I want to add it to my Christmas collection, but will hold out if the transfer is sub-par.

    Scott,
I have the HBO dvd of this film which was released back in 1997. I thought the dvd presentation was very good! In 2000, MGM released the dvd again. I have not seen that dvd but I would guess it's the same transfer.

I have the MGM version and remember the transfer being very good though it has been awhile since my viewing it. I've never seen the HBO version though. Picked mine up for $13.67 shipped at DDD. Cheers.

My review of it is up at Digitally Obsessed (the MGM version). http://www.digitallyobsessed.com/sho...w.php3?ID=1029
A delightful feel-good movie, that I thought received a very nice transfer indeed. I didn't have the older version to compare so I have no idea if it's the same, but I definitely approve.
