Does anyone know the deal w/this? I visit this site occasionally, but would never pay for the content...

Are they actually getting people to sign up?

$2.50 a month!? Considering the Big Picture posts about a dozen reviews a month (and I read about half), that's too much for me.

Too bad. Their reviews are among the best out there.

Years ago Jeff's site was full of daily news stories and reviews of most new titles. In the last year I haven't visited much because any news reporting was sporatic and there were many fewer reviews. I just now took his site off my browser 'bookmark' list since I can't see paying for a site of little utility to me. I guess review sites have a 'lifespan'. Many have come and gone, such as the original DVD Verdict and Team DVD, and of course Tannhill's DVDresource. Now newer sites like dOc cover the topics that interest me, e.g. lesser known films, opera, etc.
