The Good Girl

Abstain (no Love Liza, but I liked Igby Goes Down a lot)

I'm shocked too that an excellent movie like Confessions of a Dangerous Mind lost out to a slightly interesting, but ultimately mediocre movie like Auto Focus (Kinnear's performance was the best thing about it). I just had to say that, and yes, I'm kicking myself hard for missing the vote (and understand how silly it is of me to complain, but damn...! ).

I haven't seen these yet:
Alias Betty
Ararat
The Bourne Identity
The Count of Monte Cristo
Equilibrium
The Grey Zone
Love Liza
Metropolis
Narc
Red Dragon
The Rookie
The Salton Sea
The Sum of All Fears
We Were Soldiers
What Time Is It There?

I saw all the rest in the theater except for About a Boy .

About a Boy

Abstain (No Love Liza, but I loved Igby, so go figure)

 to Confessions losing out to Auto Focus.

I've seen all except:
Alias Betty
City of God (Thought this was 2003. Where's the damn DVD already.)
Femme Fatale
The Grey Zone
Heaven (Really want to see this one)
Love Liza
Possession
The Quiet American (Have it right here, so it'll be seen by the time it's up.)
The Salton Sea

Go Spirited Away!

Of the remaining films I haven't seen:

Alias Betty - I'm not very interested
Bowling for Columbine - I guess I'm obliged to see it after all the PR. Can't say its high on my must see list
City of God - very interested. Where's the friggin DVD?!
8 Mile - I really have no desire to see this one
Far from Heaven - Everything I've heard about it screams out Douglas Sirk. I think I'll pass.
The Grey Zone - in my Netflix queue
Heaven - not interested
Igby Goes Down - not interested
Love Liza - not interested
Possession - never got around to it
The Quiet American - in my Netflix queue
Rabbit-Proof Fence - in my Netflix queue
Roger Dodger - not interested
The Rookie - never got around to it
Secretary - this one slipped under my radar, sounds interesting so I added it to my Netflix queue. thanks.
Standing In The Shadows Of Motown - Not really a big Motown fan. I might check it out someday
Talk To Her - I have a feeling this'll be a letdown.
13 Conversations About One Thing - not very interested
What Time Is It There? - never heard of it until now. After reading some IMDB comments I can't say it's my type of film.
Bloody Sunday - in my Netflix queue

Grey Zone, Talk to Her, 13 Conversations and Alias Betty are the remaining I haven't seen. Mainly due to them not being released in my local cinema or DVD yet.

Jim, you are missing out on two excellent films in Heaven and Roger Dodger. While I wouldn't consider Far From Heaven great I thought it was a fairly solid effort.

I found Confessions to be far too calculated in its quirkiness. I had a similar reaction to Being John Malkovich. Also, it got kinda boring in the second half.

Whereas Auto Focus was quirky too, but it seemed more genuine in its quirkiness. And I wasn't bored for a minute.

Below - nothing too special, but compared to Equilibrium anything looks like a masterpiece!

Secretary - although I enjoyed Rodger Doger quite a bit.

abstain, thought Below was boring and poorly executed. I wouldn't think it possible to make an uninteresting submarine movie, but there you go.

Rodger Dodger (very funny exposure of male fantasy, though the end is a bit shakey. Liked Secretary too.)

Below - Neither film was top notch, but I'll give this title the nod on the basis of some subtlety and the effective performance of Olivia Williams.

Equilibrium - Both of these films are terribly derivative, but Equilibrium is more entertaining. Bale was also very good - it's easy to see why he's the new Batman.

Secretary - I'm lukewarm on both of these; that full frontal shot of Maggie gives Secretary the edge. Yeah, I know, that's a sexist evaluation... :b

Below - Thought it wasn't too bad, but I really disliked Equilibrium.

Roger Dodger - Big fan of this film. Campbell Scott was extrememly funny. Secretary is merely 'meh, forgettable' to me.
