The Ring - However, both films in this bracket were very average.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind - easily

My votes

Red Dragon - Both slightly above average films. The Ring was a letdown after all the hype.

Abstain to avoid a tie, would've voted for COADM

The Ring over Red Dragon 9-3

Auto Focus over Confessions of a Dangerous Mind 4-3

next

About a Boy

vs.

The Good Girl

--------------------------

Igby Goes Down

vs.

The Good Girl
Abstain - Haven't seen either.

BTW, how many films from the list has everyone seen? I've seen all but ten (and most of those I could rent) which is pretty good for me considering I wait and see most new movies on DVD (as opposed to seeing them in the theater)...

I've seen all of them except these:

Alias Betty
Below
Bowling for Columbine
City of God
Equilibrium
Far from Heaven
Femme Fatale
The Grey Zone
Heaven
Metropolis
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
The Pianist
The Quiet American
Rabbit-Proof Fence
Roger Dodger
The Salton Sea
Spirited Away
Standing In The Shadows Of Motown
Talk To Her

Pianist, Spirited, and Motown are all sitting here waiting to be watched. Hopefully I'll get to them before they come up.

I would have voted for Confessions also, first half was extremely funny and honest, didn't much care for the awkward symbolism of the downward spiral though. Couldn't get on last night because my cable service was down and when I got on this morning the vote was already decided.

anywho

About A Boy (Good Girl was average)
Love Liza (I HATED Igby Goes Down, it and Tadpole are my picks for worst of 2002)

I've seen all but 6 - Alias Betty, Harry Potter, Equilibrium, Standing in the Shadows, Metropolis, and Count of Monte Cristo. I might see a few of those eventually but not real interested in any of them right now.

About a Boy - I did like The Good Girl quite a bit

Love Liza - (didn't hate Igby, but thought it was pretty ordinary). I wouldn't say Tadpole is a terribly good film but I know I saw a lot worse last year. :)

(Can't believe Auto Focus beat Confessions in the previous round).

I've seen all but 7 (Grey Zone, Bowling for Columbine, HP and the Chamber of Secrets, Lilo & Stitch, Love Liza, Metropolis and Standing in the Shadows of Motown). Of those seen, saw all at the theatre except 2 on DVD.

The Good Girl
abstain (no Love Liza yet, but I LOVED Igby! )
