Wow, this forum is old. I'd be suprised if it is still alive but I must comment, especially since the Beach Boys are back (minus Dennis and Carl of course). The original thread came about because someone wondered what Dennis Wilson thought about being replaced by Hal Blaine as the drummer on Beach Boys albums. There was a TV movie that suggested Dennis was upset by this. What is the truth?
A quick peek at the credits of Dennis Wilson's solo release "Pacific Ocean Blue" especially the "legacy edition" that includes all of the finished (and some unfinished) material for the follow-up Bambu will show you that Dennis was the only keyboardist to play on the first album, and shared keyboard duties with Carli munoz on the second disc. However if you look at the drum credits you will see that Hal Blaine, as well as Ricky Fataar, Bobby Figueroa, and others played drums on Dennis' solo albums, therefore I would have to think that he was not too upset about not playing drums on all of the Beach Boys albums, since the people who did play drums on the Beach Boys albums also played drums on Dennis Wilson's solo albums.
