That Alec Baldwin is the original Jack Ryan....

What other things do "they" not know...but should and would if they opened their eyes. (I.E. Widescreen)

...that babies won't enjoy late night R rated movies.

...how to control that "foot" thing of theirs so that it won't kick the seat in front of it.

...how to keep their bladder from dominating their lives.

That those flares in Saving Private Ryan are intentional, and that The Matrix's green tint is also intended.

That foreign subtitled films can be just as good as English ones.

To clarify the widescreen question..
Just the fact of what it is! That they are missing what is considered to be important things due to ignorance. Thats what they should know. :)

...that if they talk and gab and noisily eat during a screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey they have no moral right to complain about "not understanding" the film upon leaving the cinema.

(I've hated this subspecies of proto-human since, oh, 1968.)

Gotcha.
The "average movie patron" does not know:
. . . that there are dozens of interesting films released in theaters every year that aren't supported by multi-million dollar marketing campaigns but are well worth seeking out.
. . . that, even right now, there are films out there worth seeing and talking about that are not Spider-Man or Star Wars.
Then again, maybe that's just the average HTF member. ;)

...That it's NOT "Dark Vader," consarnit!

...That just because a film isn't in their native tongue or wasn't made in America does not mean it's "boring."

...That I don't go to the theater to "enjoy" their fascinating conversation.

...That Jake Lloyd was NOT playing Luke in Episode I.

I think the average mvie patron doesn't know that there's a trash can at the exit. Pick up your damn trash you nasty **%$#@ and put it in the trash.
I also think the average movie fan doesn't realize that baby sitters do exist.
