Is there a 16:9 DVD of this film? I was at BB yesterday to buy it and only saw a 4:3 version. I wanted to make sure that was the correct and only release before I picked it up.

    Thanks.

I think he means the doc about the dirty joke, not the disney cartoon. Anyway the answer is yes, 4:3 is oar for the doc.

    Robert,

I think you are confusing The AristoCATS with The ArostoCRATS. They are two very different films. [IMG]

To answer the original poster, I got this film thru Netflix and it was 4X3

The Aristrocrats sure looks like it was shot on a camcorder most of the time, thus 4x3 would be appropriate. I did not see it in the theater, howver.

I saw it in an art house theater and it was 1:33:1.

I just had the funniest mental image of some parents wandering into Blockbuster and getting the Aristocrats for their children, popping it in the dvd player and leaving the room.

Chris, in The Aristocrats, they talk about that exact scenario...only it was a mother (or maybe a grandma) taking two young kids to the theater, and thinking it was the Disney movie about singing cats. The woman was a reviewer for a local paper, or something like that, and it was a preview/critics screening. Amazingly, the end of the story was that they didn't get up and leave until more than 20 minutes had gone by!

Hell, it took me two threads and a PM to notice we were talking about two different films.[IMG]

I had a hard time trying to understand why this thread was locked. Now I get it.

BTW I feel compelled to do a 'hijack' and say that the extras on the DVD were actually better than the movie itself. Being able to watch each comedians full version of the joke was worth the price of the DVD.
