Which release of The Ape Man would you say has the best quality? (Old film and probably not many great transfers, I'm assuming, but I figured I'd ask.) Thanks!

The best copy I've seen, and it's very good is "the Bela Lugosi Collection"vol 2 on Triton DVD. It also has "The Gorilla" and "White Zombie". Just go to Amazon and type in: Bela Lugosi Collection 2 Triton

Yes, I was referring to the Bela Lugosi film.
