Very cleverly written and directed film. I never get tired of re-watching it so will be delighted to upgrade my DVD. The French spelling of the title should have been used on the cover though.

This is one of my favorite movies of the past almost three decades. Like Doug, I've watched this about ten times. The DVD quality was horrible, so I'm really looking forward to this release, which I've already pre-ordered. If you've never seen it, this is a GREAT blind buy. It's endlessly clever and very addictive and has a wonderful score. The fact that this led its first-time director nowhere is the most shocking thing.

Interesting film - a decent Vertigo'ish vibe, I haven't seen it for nearly 30 years. L'appartement disappeared without trace, after its theatrical run. Hasn't even had a blu-ray release in France, despite major European stars, such as Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel. Can't have sold any units, when Artificial Eye and StudioCanal issued it on DVD, as they haven't upgraded it. But it probably didn't help that the English remake, Wicker Park (2004), was atrocious.

Happy to report that the Blu-ray sports a terrific transfer and after the horrible DVD releases, boy is this a welcome treat. The film is as beguiling and clever as ever and it's one of those movies that I could watch again and again. The fact that Mimouni had almost no career after this brilliantly directed movie is one of the great mysteries.
