I can't help but catch a few showings of the 24 hours of A CHRISTMAS STORY on TV, and then spin IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE before the day is done.

We don't watch any Christmas movies on a regular basis, but we always go to the movies on Christmas day. We just came back from Cold Mountain.

Christmas Story, of course.
Adult Swim on Cartoon Network at 11 PM had X-Mas episodes of Futurama and Family Guy...those were. Especially with the baby on Family Guy (not a show I normally watch but will now) calling Santa Claus "Klaus" like "Klaus von Bullow" like some James Bond villian. Sweet.

Scrooged when I can find it.

Bill - LOL! Lion In Winter! I love it - I think we'll have to dig this out tonight. What a warm, fuzzy, loving family celebration.

Other Xmas favorites at Casa Claire:

A Christmas Carol
Holiday Inn
Miracle on 34th Street

Lion In Winter is my fav as well.

I thought I would tire of It's A Wonderful Life, but I never have.

At some point during my Christmas holiday at home with family, we all watch "A Christmas Carol" (the George C. Scott version), "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (the Claymation version with Burl Ives et al), and "The Nutcracker" (which, being a filmic adaptation of the ballet, isn't strictly speaking a movie...but is great all the same. It's the one with Mikhail Baryshnikov in the title role).

The George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol" is my all-time favorite Christmas film. I think it is perfect.

cheers,
Phil
