I like how after the restoration credits, the put an age appropriate Paramount logo. Obviously as this wasn't originally a Paramount Picture it would not have been on the original prints. This screen shot was taken from Amazon Prime showing of The African Queen.

Yes, it's disgraceful. John Dall is in modern clothes, and the Bette Davis portrait is from The Great Lie released in 1941 and set in the then-modern era. BTW, in the book Mother Goddam by Whitney Stine where Bette commented in counterpoint to the author's biographical text, she pointedly mentioned this ad and how much she despised it.

My 2-disc Warners Blu ray which came with lots of extras is so good I don't see the need to update. There again, it IS one of my very favourite movies, so if there's an absolutely compelling comparative review, I might as usual rethink, despite what I just said!

Yeah, that’s probably the same one I have for that reason.

Here to say - it's not a very good movie.

Quite correct. Originally written as a low-budget creature film. It was made years later, with a proper cast, as Leech Woman.

Yes, Leech Woman was undeniably the classier film. For a start, the sets weren't so obviously fake, shot on a back-lot in Hollywood.

I do enjoy your rather demented sense of humor. I have it also.
