My thoughts on V's list:

The Fellowship of the Ring: good flick, not a huge fan
Moulin Rouge: excellent
O Brother, Where Art Thou?: ditto
Punch-Drunk Love: didn't do it for me
Adaptation: the most overrated film of 2002; hugely disappointing
The Two Towers: fun, but the storytelling was messy; one talking-tree scene would have been sufficient
The Royal Tenenbaums: great choice
Solaris (2002): ditto
The Pianist: haven't seen
Lost In La Mancha: great choice
Rabbit-Proof Fence: haven't seen
City of God: good choice
Sunshine State: ditto
