picked up a Denon 1802 to replace my Kenwood 306. If I can figure out how to work the damn thing I'm sure I'll grow to love it [IMG]
Seriously though I have a quick question. the max setting on the reciever seems to fluxuate randomly. The volume beings on -50 and goes as high as +12. However sometimes it'll go to +15, 17, 18 etc. Of course I'm not actually listening to anything at those volumes but why does the max volume change like this?
    Thanks!

On my AVR-3300, the maximum volume level is +18 dB minus any boost you set for any of the channels. Thus if you set the subwoofer at +6, the maximum volume is +12. This helps to keep you from overloading any speakers by setting a huge boost and then cranking the volume.
