    I believe it is the same disk but available in 2 separate covers.

    and they are reversible!!! I think the cover is a flip-over slip cover!

    I hope they used the correct repaired transfer like the Elite laserdisc. The last Pioneer disc didn't. The current R2 UK disc has the Elite LD commentary but I haven't checked to see if they used the transfer too.

    Funny. I was under the impression that the first cover art was of the 2003 remake.

    wasn't the first Pioneer dvd basically a workprint?

    i sure hope they used a better print for this one.

    No, teh negative or IP was damaged. Elite digitally restored it for the LD. Pioneer was 'mistakenly' given the wrong transfer when they produced the DVD.
