Can't find any info on the DVD box.
To my knowledge, it is not anamorphic.
I don't hink it's anomorphic either. I've held off on buying this as I've never seen a confirmation that it is infact the uncut unrated version, similar to the Anchor Bay VHS that came out a few years ago. After seeing this uncut, I couldn't imagine going back to the version that was put out on tape by Canon home video..
Actually, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is unrated. There never was an "R"-rated version released. It went to the theaters unrated and the MGM DVD is the same unrated print as well. Unfortunately it doesn't include the extra 10 minutes of deleted scenes that were on the Elite laserdisc, including the infamous "yuppie massacre" and the Joe Bob Briggs cameo.
all I know is the Anchor Bay VHS had a ton of cool stuff cut into the film that was not on previous VHS versions (at least that I saw.) The deleted scenes on the LD sound similar to the ones on the VHS. If the cut on the dvd is the same as the AB VHS , than it's a pretty sweet deal @ $10 canadian. I'll have to pick it up this wek end, as that's the only reason I was holding off.
The MGM DVD is Non Anamorphic,I have it and for the price it's not a bad release but I would love a SE to go with the other 2 films
I believe Damin is correct. The MPAA website doesn't list a rating.
Definitely not anamorphic. My review: http://www.digitallyobsessed.com/showreview.php3?ID=362
