Is this a great country or what?
2019 is almost here. The year Blade Runner was set in. Also Akira (1988), The Island (2005) and Daybreakers (2009).
Happy New Year!

"Zardoz has Spoken!!"
Watched Aquaman last night in a process called Screen X, anybody experience this? Is it new? It was new for me.
For people who steer clear of 3D for various reasons they might like Screen X, One large screen at the front and separate screens on the side walls going all the way to the back. The two extra screens light up at certain points in the film, for action or spectacle. Have to confess I liked it. A sort of extreme version of the old Cinerama process. A tip - sit as far back as you can.
I enjoyed the film like I knew I would. It's a comic book movie with comic book dialogue and performances. I'm not at all surprised it's grossed close to a billion dollars. Looking forward to watching it in 3D on blu-ray.
Screen X? Sounds odd. I tried that rattling seat thing for BABY DRIVER and it was god awful. Now I got to crane my neck around? Thank god for home theater, eh!
I think my next trip to he cinema will probably be the new Tarantino, or maybe that Scorsese Joker movie. nothing else is lighting my fire. Too many adaptations.
Speaking of which, I finally watched JACK REACHER and LOVED THE S**T out of it! What a great movie! Tom Cruise was miscast, but he was great in it regardless! And that shoe eater Herzog, who knew he was such a scene stealer? I'll watch the second one next weekend.
Herzog was creepily effective... nay 'effectively creepy'... as the villain in Jack Reacher.
Nicole Kidman after divorcing Tom Cruise - "woohoo! I can wear high heels again!"
Screen X is probably what Cinerama must have been like back in the 50s and 60s. Unlike 3D it can't be replicated in home theater. There were sequences where 3 different angles of a scene was playing on 3 screens at the same time, I didn't know which way to look.
I thought Shayamallama's Glass was the one you were looking forward to Russ.
Same sequence in 3 different angles? What is this, Netflix Black Mirror Blambersnatch where you can choose your own adventure??? Can't we just watch the f**king movie anymore? GET OFF MY LAWN!
I was so into GLASS I forgot all about it despite seeing a trailer for it over the weekend. I now realize that I haven't seen SPLIT, too lazy to dig out whatever the first one was called... I'll probably wait until it hit VOD or something and watch all of them.
I'm not that interested in Glass but I'll see it eventually. My next cinema trip will be Captain Marvel. In the comic books I knew as a kid Marvel was a man, things have changed a bit since then. And Sgt. Nick Fury smoked cigars, had an eye patch and was very white.
I forgot about the marvel films. Might sneak out to the next Avengers to see how it wraps up, but then again, I'm kinda done giving Disney my money.
Grass actually grows in Deadmonton?
One month out of the year it greens up when the snow melts before turning brown.
Having the divided screen in that demo would drive me nuts if I was watching a movie on that set up.
I had not realized that our Zen had such a fancy place In LA.
Oh sure. He's had me over. I was thinking of getting a place something like his.
Hey I was raised a Presbyterian …..
