Huh. You'd thinking the fire would melt the ice...which would likely seep through the gasket and douse the fire...and that the whole mix would cause the porcelain to explode.

But maybe I'm not thinking clearly...

Except for that, I think we've got a real winner here! :D

Hint to urban cowboys and cowgirls: do NOT sit back on your spurs.

Saw Atomic Blonde this past weekend. Charlize is totally convincing as an ass-kicker and there are many great action sequences. And a fantastic 80s soundtrack which they try to correlate to the onscreen action (though sometimes a bit distracting as I was marveling at the song choices).

I also saw A Ghost Story, which may very well end up in my Top 5 for the year. It's definitely not for everyone, as it is a melancholy, contemplative film which lingers on certain scenes, including the much talked about scene where Rooney Mara sits on the floor and eats an entire pie in 9 minutes. But, oh, with such emotion in every fork stab and bite!! Really beautiful and thought-provoking film.

I watched Department Q: The Keeper of Lost Causes on rental streaming. Much better than the book! The brisk 92-minute running time really tightened up the story and I liked the casting as well. I'm looking forward to the other 2 films in the series, though I don't intend to read those novels.

Hi Elizabeth, I want to see Atomic Blonde. I want to see Charlize kick ass. But I can wait for home viewing. At first I thought it was a film about Debbie Harry, Blondie had a pop hit with Atomic in the 80s. But this is better.

It's National Mustard Day today! Only in America...

    Saw some streaming rentals recently:

Mine - I enjoyed Armie Hammer in this lead role. Have always liked him. I know some imdb viewers were bored with the premise of the film, but I found it engaging throughout.

Black Butterfly - Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers star, with Piper Perabo in a supporting role. Oh, this one came so close to being better than expected. But, can't overlook that. Shame.

I also started watching "Six" from my DVR. So far, it's very good. Love Walton Goggins (from "Justified") in this, too.

Was lazy this weekend so skipped going to the movies. Had been considering "The Dark Tower", which looked interesting in the trailers. (Have not read the King novels.)

    Anyone seen Wind River yet?

My brother lives in the middle of the real Wind River reservation. What a horrible crime-ridden place it is. My brother is NUTS.

No the only new film I saw was Valerian and the something or other which despite the reviews I quite enjoyed, yes it's true I'm fairly easy to please, especially when it comes to spectacular sci-fi. Filled to the brim with eye popping visual effects and I even liked the two young leads, especially the girl Cara and her scary eyebrows. Yeah piss on the critics I'll buy the 3D blu-ray as soon as it's out.

That looks like a Star Wars ripoff, with both Jabba the Hut and Jar-Jar characters.

It was loosely based on a French comic book the director Luc Besson was reading as a child. But I would say George Lucas, James Cameron and Ridley Scott are the three most influential filmmakers in modern movie history. No one else comes close, not even Spielberg.

I've been busy with these ladies recently, take your pick -
