No dog movies for me Mike, I'm a cat person, dogs unnerve me. I saw a cat movie a few months ago - A Street Cat Named Bob - which is worth watching once. Based on a true story about a homeless young heroin addict who befriends a homeless cat and turns his life around.

I went to the cinema last night and saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Not as good as the first film, it's quite messy actually, but still hugely enjoyable. Great songs, great characters, it's frequently hilarious and you might even shed a tear or two by the finish. Kurt Russell plays Chris Pratt's alien dad and this guy has an ego the size of a planet, in fact he is a planet, and his name is Ego! Stallone turns up too, Tango & Cash together again! ..well not quite.

I did stay thru the end credits this time because there are multiple 'mid-credits' scenes.

Highly recommended. 8 out of 10.

More please!

I want to see "A Street Cat Named Bob".

I saw "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" this past weekend. I enjoyed it, but I was hoping for a better soundtrack. The first featured song is one of my faves of the 70's, though. I thought Baby Groot was the cutest thing ever and found myself waiting for his scenes.

Apparently, they plan to have just one more in the series.

Hi Elizabeth, If you're referring to 'Mr. Blue Sky' I was a big Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) fan back in the 70s and that was one of their greatest hits. I loved the opening credits to Guardians 2. Easily the best song in the film IMO, and come to think about it I prefer Peter Quill's Awesome Mix Vol.1 which had a more enjoyable and less cringeworthy set of songs. :)

If you love cats you'll enjoy A Street Cat Named Bob. I know the 'old' Jack Briggs would have enjoyed it....

I was referring to "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)". LOVED that song.

I watched "The Girl with All the Gifts" this past weekend. I thought it was pretty interesting, though it didn't always seem consistent with its "rules". Sennia Nanua was excellent in her first feature length role.

This weekend I finally got around to seeing--for the first time--Passengers and Patriot's Day.

I liked both films. Jennifer Lawrence is amazing. She's going to be one of the great actresses of the current generation.

Saw "Shock Wave" this weekend. It's a Hong Kong film starring Andy Lau as a bomb specialist. Was a good action film, and like "The Hurt Locker" or "Blown Away", makes you ponder the people who do this for a living. May have equaled "John Wick 2" in the number of bullets expended. Good to see them bring a HK film to the theaters here outside of the film festival.

Great bit of editing there Mike. I'm sure I've seen it before. I remember there was something like that in the compilation movie - That's Dancing! decades ago!

Spoilers ahoy for Passengers -

I enjoyed Passengers. If I was stuck on that spaceship for years I'd want Jennifer Lawrence with me too. I don't blame Chris Pratt for what he did, though it was pretty bad. She saved his life and ultimately they both saved the ship so it was... fate that brought them together... to save mankind! [Stop it Steve!]

Shock Wave sounds like my sort of film, Elizabeth. I will watch out for that one. I haven't seen John Wick 2 yet.
