My tiny (1,040 square foot) house in San Jose sold today. It was only on the market a week. Selling price $657,000, or over $7,000 over asking price. Sold strictly in "as is" condition. Short 21 day escrow period. I had multiple offers and took the best one.
The San Jose real estate market is still crazy, no matter what kind of hand-wringing the mainstream media is making over the so-called "housing bubble".
Craaaaazy. But, congratulations.
BTW, Ron's announced we're going to finally have that software upgrade that they tried a few months ago. Looks like the forum will be down again for awhile.
Just in case you didn't see the announcement.
So Mike, what would $657,000 (535,277 Euros) buy in upstate New York?
House #1 ($590k in Guilderland, suburb of Albany)
House #2 $700k in Loudonville, suburb of Albany)
House #3 ($570k in East Greenbush, suburb of Rensselaer & Albany)
You could be quite comfortable here...and do much better than these houses I did on a quick search of the area.
Or you could purchase this house, which is actually priced most reasonably in its particular market:
It's just that its particular market is insane.
Location, location, location...
Looks kinda like Dennis Hopper's house in Speed! The one that blows up with Jeff Daniels inside it.
Honestly. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Weird.
The houses you posted in NY would sell in the THREE TO FIVE MILLION DOLLAR range in San Jose.
Hi Cees! Love what you guys have done with the place!
Heh. Heh. Next to Dennis' name it says "Senior Member". Heh. Heh.
**EDIT Testing the "Edit" function.
Keep it up, whippersnapper, and I'll beat you over the head with my cane.
Dadgum kids these days.....
Oy, veh...we're back to post counts. And no "Boise" tag.
– The Babbitt and The Bromide
"The Babbitt and the Bromide"
Music by George Gershwin, Lyric by Ira Gershwin
A Babbitt met a Bromide on the avenue one day.
They held a conversation in their own peculiar way.
They both were solid citizens- They both had been around.
And as they spoke you clearly saw their feet were on the ground.
Hello! How are you?
Howza folks? What's new?
I'm great! That's good!
Ha! Ha! Knock wood!
Well! Well! That's Life!
Whatd'ya know? How's the wife?
Gotta run! Oh my!
Ta Ta! Olive Oil! Good-bye!
Ten years went quickly by for both these sub-sti-an-tial men,
And then it happened that one day they chanced to meet again.
That they have both developed in ten years there was no doubt,
And so of course they had an awful lot to talk about:
Before they met again some twenty years they had to wait.
This time it happened up above, inside St. Peter's gate.
A a harp each one was carrying and both were wearing wings,
And this is what they said as they kept strumming on the strings:
I didn't realize that Julius II actually laid the cornerstone of St. Peters.
How did he manage to slip that in between battles and girlfriends?
I believe he had a brief hiatus between the Broadway run of My Fair Lady and when the Hollywood production got underway!
A brief hiatus? Isn't that controllable with antibiotics?
Cees is a physician...maybe he can comment here.
Is really? I thought he just played one on the internet.
